Refund Policy

When you get your money back, when you do not, and how long it takes.

For buyers · 2 min read · Version 1.0, effective 29 August 2026

1.The short version

If the event happens as advertised, tickets are not refundable because your plans changed.

If it is cancelled, you get your money back.

Everything below is the detail on those two sentences.

2.If an event is cancelled

You are refunded the full ticket price. You do not need to ask — the organiser cancels, and we return the money to the account you paid from.

Any fee you paid on top of the ticket price is refunded with it.

We cannot refund what you spent getting there.

3.If an event moves

A new date: your ticket is valid for it. If you cannot make the new date, ask for a refund within 14 days of the change being announced and you will get one.

A new venue: your ticket is valid there. A material change of venue — a different town, say — is treated as a change you can refund against, on the same 14 days.

A change to the line-up is generally not grounds for a refund unless the act you were sold was the event.

4.If you change your mind

Tickets are for a specific event on a specific date, so the usual cooling-off right does not apply to them.

Some organisers choose to allow refunds anyway, up to a cut-off before the doors. Where they do, the event page says so, and that offer is theirs to honour.

5.Complimentary tickets

Nothing was paid, so there is nothing to refund. If a complimentary ticket has not arrived, ask the organiser who issued it — they can resend it.

6.How a refund reaches you

Back to where it came from: M-PESA to the number that paid, card to the card that paid. We cannot send a refund somewhere else.

M-PESA usually lands within a few hours. Card refunds depend on your bank and commonly take 5 to 10 working days.

A refunded ticket is cancelled immediately and will not admit anybody.

7.If something went wrong with your order

Charged but no ticket: this should not happen — tickets are issued when payment settles — but if it does, contact us with the M-PESA code or card reference and we will either issue the ticket or refund it.

Charged twice: send us both references and we will reverse the duplicate.

Refused at the door on a valid ticket: tell us, and tell us the same day if you can. We hold the scan record and can see what happened.

8.Asking for a refund

Write to support@afcon.mytickets.africa with your order reference or the phone number you bought with.

Where the refund is the organiser's decision rather than a cancellation, we pass it to them and hold you to no worse than what the law allows.
